Course Overview

Our A+ Certification course is aimed at anyone who wants to develop the skills needed to become a PC Technician, Help Desk Technician or PC Support
specialist. Using our unique Skill Builder software to tailor the training to your needs, the course takes you from an understanding of the basics of Operating
Systems, to installing, configuring, and upgrading Windows 95/98 and Windows 2000. And at the end, you'll earn a nationally-recognised qualification.

Pre Requisites

You should have basic PC skills and be familiar with Windows applications and Explorer. If you don't have these skills we recommend you study our ECDL
or PC Basics course first. The minimum system spec required to run our CD-ROMs is: PC with a Pentium with 233 MHz or better with a minimum of 64 MB RAM. The PC should be running Microsoft Windows 98 or later. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 with Service Pack 2 or higher; or Netscape Navigator 4.76 or higher. The browser must support cookies, Java and JavaScript. 800 x 600 screen resolution; 256 color. For audio, MPCI compliant sound card with speakers or headphones.

Assessment

To gain A+ Certification you must pass the A+ Operating System Technologies and A+ Core Hardware Service Technician exams, which will be administered by a testing centre near to your home. Please note exam fees are additional to course fees.

Course Overview

This course provides an overview of the fundamentals of networking and basic capabilities of network operating systems. After taking this course, learners will understand basic networking concepts and familiarize themselves with various operating systems.

Pre-requisites

Before you take the Network course, you should have taken and passed both A Certification exams or have the equivalent knowledge and experience in IT.  A Certification is available from I-TEC
